The Eurojam

The roots of Scouting

The concept of Jamboree stems from the vision of its founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, who in 1920 brought together 8,000 scouts in London to celebrate peace and international brotherhood. Eurojam carries on this legacy for the International Union of Guides and Scouts of Europe (UIGSE-FSE).

More than just a camp, it is an experience of cultural exchange and real life, where young people from different countries get to know each other, overcoming language barriers through the same Scout Law and a single Promise.

Real meeting

Adventures in contact with nature and real friendships, not virtual ones.

Christian Growth

A journey to rediscover the Christian roots of Europe and deepen your faith.

Peace Builders

A concrete opportunity to promote unity and peace on our continent.
How many generations owe their growth on the path to holiness, the practice of virtue, and, in particular, their greatness of spirit to the Scout method! Your meeting takes place on the centenary of the start of the First World War. I invite you to pray for unity and peace in Europe and throughout the world. You are the true protagonists of this world, do not be mere spectators! I encourage you not to be afraid to face the challenges of life in order to safeguard Christian values, in particular the defense of life, development, the dignity of every person, the fight against poverty, and so many other battles that we must face every day.”

Message from Pope Francis on the occasion of EuroJamboree, July 3, 2014

Our journey

Since 1959, five Jamborettes (Federal Camps) have been held, preceding the first Eurojam.

1984: The origins

Velles, Francia

The first Eurojam takes place in the fields of freshly harvested wheat in Velles. 5,000 scouts and guides (including 1,000 Italians) gather to consecrate the association to the Virgin of the Annunciation in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

1994: Ut Omnes Unum Sint

Viterbo, Italia
Italy hosts the second Eurojam. 7,500 Scouts and Guides descend on Viterbo under the motto “May all be one.” Sixteen countries united by the same faith and the same Promise.

2003: Duc in Altum

Zelazko, Polonia
The third edition shifts the horizon eastward. 9,000 participants enjoy an extraordinary experience of prayer and adventure. “Set sail” is the invitation that guides the activities of thousands of young Europeans.

2014: Venite et Videte

Normandia, Francia
One hundred years after the start of the Great War, 12,000 young people return to where their great-grandparents fought, to bear witness to peace. A historic event in Saint Evroult Notre Dame du Bois, enriched by a special message from Pope Francis, who invited the scouts to be “true protagonists of this world”.

The future: 2027

Today, we are preparing to write the next chapter. In 2027, 8,000 new protagonists are expected to renew this great game of brotherhood.
